Warner Bros goes back to Gaslight
Warner Bros has put a remake of the 1944 thriller Gaslight in motion. Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice) will make his U.S. directing debut. Abi Morgan will write the screenplay, which is based on a 1938 British play by Patrick Hamilton. The MGM classic film was released in 1940 and starred Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman. It received seven Oscar nods, including a win for Bergman. The movie tells the story of a woman whose suitor is really only interested in her cash, and after luring her into a house of horrors, tries to convince her that she is insane.
